Unlike a relaxing sailing experience, the unbelievable thrill of white water rafting is sure to get hearts racing and minds pumping as the participants are surrounded by thunderous noise, churning water and fast rapids. All that will be left between them and the ferocious water is an inflatable raft and some serious team work.
As white water rafting is dependent on water levels, natural rapids can only be experienced when water levels are high enough. A full safety briefing is conducted by a professional qualified instructor who is also there to look after everyone throughout the white water river experience.
There is also an option of manmade rapids where a safety talk and tuition for paddling techniques is given. Then, under the guidance of the qualified instructor, the whole group will travel in an inflatable raft up to five times in the two hour rapid session.
The manmade rapids experience lasts for approximately 2 hours and the natural river rapids lasts between 2 to 3.5 hours.
Bookings can be made for the manmade rapids from Monday to Sunday, March to November and October to March for the river white water rafting.
Natural rafting is dependent on water levels.
Family and friends are more than welcome to watch on the day.
A general level of fitness is required to take part in the rafting and there is a maximum weight limit of 95kg (15 stone). This activity is not always suitable for anyone with contact lens or glasses and is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant.
The natural venue minimum age is 16 years old and 18 years old at the manmade venue.
Participants must be strong swimmers and confident in the water in order to take part in this activity.
The rafts can hold up to a maximum of 8 people.
