A bobsleigh ride really is the 'formula one' of ice sports which hurtles a team of four down a long icy track. This terrifying, otherwise known as exhilarating, sport starts with a short video to get everyone in the mood. Then it's to the track for a thorough safety briefing and kit fitting before learning about the sport and techniques required.
Once all the preparation has been put in place, it's time to trial on the 'start facility'. This facility is a true replica and although not on ice, can achieve speeds of up to 40mph. Once the practice runs are over, it's time to be put to the test on the timed runs. A fantastic event which is also a great idea for team building activities.
The bobsleigh session takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.
Bookings can be made on selected dates throughout the year, subject to availability.
Weather conditions will not affect this activity and all appropriate safety clothing will be handed out on the day.
Family and friends are welcome to watch on the day.
General fitness is required for running. This activity is not recommended for anyone suffering from epilepsy, fits, heart conditions, diabetes, leg or arm injuries or anyone who is pregnant. A self declaration form of general fitness may be requested on the day.
Participants must be 15 years old and over to take part.
No previous qualifications are required.
This is a group event where there will be a maximum of twenty people and also other groups on the day.
