Wine tasting isn't often associated with England, which is why it usually comes as a shock that England does in fact produce its very own wine! The vineyard tour and tasting for two is an ideal opportunity to discover the English wine industry by enjoying a tour of one of its finest vineyards which is then followed by a fantastic tasting session. Perfect for picking out any special wedding wines for the big day.
The wine tour includes an experienced guide who will explain the history of English wine, how vines are grown on a commercial scale, the methods used at the vineyard and reasons for the choice of grapes grown. The processes behind wine production are also explained, providing an excellent overview of the wine industry.
The whole experience finishes with a wine tasting session of the fine wines discussed throughout the lesson. Many vineyards also have a cafe and restaurant where lunch can be purchased.
The vineyard experience lasts between 1 to 2 hours.
Most wineries are open between May and October, with some open all year, where bookings can be made on selected Monday to Sunday dates.
The majority of the time will be spent outdoors where temperatures may become quite cool.
Unfortunately spectators are unable to attend on the day.
General fitness is required to take part in this activity as there is some walking involved.
Participants must be 18 years and over.
Previous qualifications or experience are not necessary to take part in this activity.
The gift certificate is for two people where there'll be a maximum of 50 other people in the group.
