As flying lessons go this is one that will certainly never be forgotten, learn to fly in true 1930's style by getting behind the controls of a real vintage plane in the form of an outstanding Tiger Moth. Participants are kitted out with all of the essentials, including a flying jacket and goggles after all this is an open cockpit plane so it can get a bit chilly. Feel the thrill of having the air rushing past you as you cruise along in one of the earliest flying machines created.
This outstanding flying activity gift begins with a pre flight briefing and an opportunity to get to know the aircraft and the controls. The participants are seated behind the instructor who will taxi onto the runway and take to the skies. This amazing plane will cruise at around 80 knots as the passenger gets to take the controls for a flying experience of a lifetime.
If this experience is taken at the Duxford location then the gift recipient will also receive free entry to the museum (worth £16) and half price entry for guests.
This Tiger Moth flying experience lasts around 1 hour in total with 20 minutes at the controls.
The activity gift is available between Wednesday and Sunday throughout most of the year but mainly between May and September.
The event is subject to weather conditions and may be cancelled in the event of inappropriate conditions.
Spectators are welcome to come along and watch.
Participants must not weigh more than 18 stone and must be no taller than 6 foot 4 inches. Getting in and out of the plane requires a degree of fitness and flexibility, this activity gift may not be suitable for people with heart problems or who are pregnant.
All participants must be over 18 years of age.
No qualifications or experience are required.
This is a private flying lesson, it will be just the participant and the instructor in the plane.
