The Land Rover defender offers an outstanding 4x4 off road driving experience, this is a vehicle which has stood the test of time and over half a century of rugged usage and improvements is now without a doubt one of the toughest vehicles known to man. It's no wonder the military have used these for so long, they are pretty much unstoppable, although the guys at Silverstone off-road centre have built a course which comes pretty much as close as you can get to beating the defender. Participants in this event get to take this amazing vehicle over steep hills, through deep fords and around several other tricky obstacles, what a great activity gift idea.
The session begins with an in car safety briefing which will include some advice and tips on driving techniques. Following this your instructor will do a demonstration lap after which the participants get behind the wheel to put their skills to the test. You can also bring passengers along, who can sit in the cab with you, to give you encouragement.
Drivers get around 20 minutes behind the wheel and the session lasts around 1 hour from start to finish.
The session runs all year round on selected week days and occasionally on weekends.
This activity is dependent upon weather conditions.
Two passengers can ride in the car with you but they must be over 4 foot 5 inches tall.
Drivers must be between 5 foot 2 inches and 6 foot 7 inches tall, can't weigh more than 18 stone and the activity is not suitable for people who suffer from epilepsy, heart conditions or are pregnant.
Participants must be 18 years of age or over.
You must present a full, valid UK driving licence on the day which you have held for at least one year, photocopies will not be accepted.
There will only be the instructor and yourself in the car along with any passengers you bring along.
