Activity Description - Zap Cats

This is the ultimate power boating experience!

Take a racing craft with a twin hull, spoiler and very large engine and you have an amazingly fast high performance boat otherwise known as a zap cat.

Originally developed in South Africa for racing, our centre is the only one in the UK that lets the public try the machines on open water and put them through their paces.

Following a safety briefing and donning buoyancy aids you will head for open water with the qualified instructor at the wheel to show you what these boats can do. If conditions permit you may also get the chance to take the wheel!

Whether you open the throttle and skim over the waves in a straight line or turn at high speed jump over waves this 1 1/2 hour experience is guaranteed to get your pulse racing!

Important

This is a high impact sport so any existing injury or condition should be taken into consideration before taking part. All participants must be able to swim.

Session Length
The session will last between 1 to 1 ½ hours.

Spectators
Spectators are welcome although due to the nature of the activity, they will not be able to see much.

Weather Check
This experience may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make racing at speed dangerous. Please call the centre if in any doubt.

What to Wear
Wetsuits are provided. You will need to take swimwear and a towel with you; sunglasses are also advisable to keep the spray out of your eyes.
