Activity Description - Full Monty Tank Driving Experience

An action packed day of Military madness! Drive a selection of 4 awesome military vehicles over an SAS style course such as:

  • Stalwart 10 Ton Truck
  • Abbot Tank
  • Rappier Rocket Carrier
  • Ferret Armoured Car

    You will learn to fire a Flintlock Musket and a 17th century mortar - then pit your new found skills against the other contestants.

    In addition you will receive a briefing about modern terrorism and SAS skills before heading to the woods to put what you’ve learnt into practice in a nerve wracking competition.

    To round off the day there will be a clay pigeon shooting competition and the winner will get the chance to drive a 50 ton Chieftain Main Battle Tank….…. over a family saloon car!

    Every guest is kitted out in camouflage suits and helmets. Refreshments are provided throughout the day and there will be a great selection of lunch options available. A fantastic 7 hour experience, in which the fun doesn't stop!

    Restrictions

    Min Age: 18 years old
    Min Height: 5’ 2”
    Max Height: 6’ 5”
    Max Weight: 16 stone

    Important
    All drivers must have held a full driving licence for at least 1 year and produce it on the day.
    Drivers should be able to drive a manual car.

    Spectators
    For safety reasons you are limited to a maximum of 2 spectators at a cost of £10.00 per person (payable on day).We do not advise babies or small children to attend.
    There is nothing for non-participants to do other than watch. Please advise the centre direct no less than 5 days before regarding spectator numbers. No dogs are allowed.

    Availability
    The experience runs seven days a week year round

    Numbers On The Day
    There will be a ratio of approx 5 drivers to 1 instructor

    The Weather
    Although this event is not weather dependant extreme conditions may result in cancellation due to dangerous driving conditions e.g. fog, flooding, high winds etc.
    If unsure contact the centre on the day.

    What To Wear
    The shoes you wear are the most essential items. Many styles of trainer are NOT suitable as the soles are too thick or too wide. Squash shoes are good, as are narrow fitting thin-soled shoes.
    Please bring good warm outdoor clothing, especially in winter as the forest is high (1500 ft) & exposed.
    You will not be able to participate if the correct type of footwear is not worn - If unsure contact the school in advance for advice.

    Additional Information
    Alcohol is strictly forbidden - If the instructor smells drink your experience will be cancelled on the spot.
    Motor sport can be dangerous. Although we make every effort to ensure your safety, accidents can occur. Therefore we require the participants to read, understand and sign a disclaimer before taking part.
    Please ensure you arrive on time. Failure to do so could mean that you forfeit your course. The learning stages are 4 miles from the meet point and it is important to leave on time.
    Please advise the centre direct no less than 5 days before if you require vegetarian food options.
