Activity Description - Aerobatics Sortie

This is the ultimate aerobatics session!

You will control an Extra 300 – One of the worlds top two seater competition aerobatic aircraft used by display teams throughout the world.

This 9 litre, 300bhp this piston-engined aircraft handles just like a fighter jet and dishes out some serious G force along the way!

To get you ready for the day ahead your extreme aerobatics experience will start with you being kitted out in flying suits and bone domes before being equipped with the essential knowledge - cockpit controls and safety briefing at the aircraft.

Your pre-flight briefing will be ‘military style’ as you are instructed on safety and parachute drills plus how to fly the aircraft, aerobatics manoeuvres and shown a short video.

This is followed by a sortie pre-brief with your RAF instructor before strapping on your parachute and preparing to take to the skies.You will be in the aircraft for 45 minutes with an approximate flight time of 25 minutes for your sortie.

You will have a total flight time of 25 minutes for your sortie over the South coast.

Following take off you will spend time getting to know the effects of the controls, turning, climbing, descending and stalling. Your instructor will then take you through from intermediate to advanced aerobatic manoeuvres. But don’t expect to sit back and enjoy the flight – following the aerobatic manoeuvres it’s your turn to take to the controls and attempt manoeuvres such as the loop and aileron roll!

On return to base you will receive a personal debrief with your instructor and at the end of your experience you will receive a signed flight certificate.

    All participants must complete a medical self certificate, some conditions may require a GP’s certificate. Please contact us if in any doubt.

    Session length:
    Allow 2 –3 hours from start to finish. 45 minutes in aircraft, including 25 minutes airborne

    Spectators:
    Welcome on site.

    Dress Code:
    Flat soled shoes, (trainers are ideal), no boots.

    Additional:
    Your logbook, (which counts towards a private pilots license), and a video of your flight are available to purchase on the day.
